Anyone got any tips for getting a 7 month old baby to sleep through?

My 7 month old wakes every 1-2 hours through the night. She feeds for a minute or two (feeds) then goes straight back down, but if I dont feed her she screams until I do and then is so awake it takes ages to get her back down. She is fully on solids, three meals a day. She used to take a pacifier/dummy sometimes, then sometimes feed, but now she refuses the dummy. She wont be rocked back to sleep. I do not feed her to sleep at bedtime, she goes down, in her cot, with her soother. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Why did my triumph spitfire just die?

my 1970 spitfire was running perfect when i got it, it ran for like 2 or 3 hours just fine, then it just died. i replaced the battery today cause the auto place said my old one was shot, after i did that it ran perfect for about 15 min. then died again. i cant figure out why it died and not sure what happened, has anyone else had this problem or does anyone else have any idea on what to look for to fix? thank you.

In November of 2007 I was diagnosed with HPV and the doctor found cancerous cells on my cervix. I was covered under insurance at the time, but aged off my parents insurance during my pregnancy (I found out I was pregnant the same day as my diagnosis). I was told that we would repeat the pap at 6 weeks post partum. After I was dropped from insurance, I went on state istance and my pregnancy and daughters birth were covered by Medicaid. I had complications with my doctor and scheduling and went to one post partum appointment but we didn't get the chance to do a follow up for the cervical cancer. I was told to watch for abnormal bleeding and pelvic pain (although, she said, at that point the cancer would have progressed, if I were having actual symptoms.) I am still not covered under insurance, however, the pain in my pelvic region has steadily gotten worse and I have been experiencing bright red bleeding unrelated to my period. I have no clue what to do. I can't afford cancer treatments. I know I'm jumping the gun, but I'm terrified of what I'm going to lose if my worst gut fears are in fact true. I'm overwhelmed with stress and uncertainty and I don't know where to turn. Keep in mind that if I go and have this diagnosed and it is actually cancer, I will have no chance in HELL at getting any sort of insurance to help. I know this is serious. I know yahoo answers isn't the appropriate forum. I just don't know where to turn. Please Help

Well just so u know male rats get a bit larger and i think they smell more but they are fatter and more cuddly. Females are a bit smaller but more energetic and seem to get into more. Just handle them a few times a day to bond. Start using treats to coax them out of the cage. First feed through bars then at door then on your hand and then only when they come out to meet you. Can also be taught to come to their names and do some neat tricks. One of mine like to roll to me and all would come when called even across the room comes in handy during playtime As for names it is your preference the rats wont care but i would make them different sounding if you plan on teaching them their names.

My brother has decided to get an iPhone so i have the option of getting a new phone because we will have to extend the contract. Most background investigators or those that hire police officers would probably not consider you. Some of what you've mentioned would be cause for automatic disqualification with some departments. If the Surgeon General would've cleared you, and you ped a department's medical and psychological examinations, then you might not automatically be disqualified, but departments would still be hesitant to hire you. It might not hurt to wait a few years and apply with a department or two, but don't get your hopes up. Getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. There will likely be plenty of candidates with as much education and qualifications as you that don't have the negative history that you have. There are many other jobs that you may be more suited for that would also allow you to serve your community. Minister, youth or adult counselor, or teacher are just a few that come to mind. I`m having some friend issues?

So last year I lost 3 of my best friends. And my only remaining friend ditched me this year. Questions about Clarkson and Northeastern?

The actaul campus around Northeastern is quite nice, and anything around Huntington ave is perfectly safe for any student. However once you venture "over" the orange line towards the Roxbury the enviroment is less than ideal. Last year I lived right between columbus ave and tremont st and what I noticed was there was Tremont street was literally the threshold between "perfectly safe NEU" and "the hood" it may sound funny but each side of the street is drastically different than the other. Many students also choose to live on "mission hill" which is further down huntington towards roxbury/jamaica plan, altho this area has a bad reputation everyone I talked to has never had any problems there. I myself have never had any confrontations or problems with anyone while in boston. Altho I said early that there is a rough area near NEU, theres really no reason to go there because nobody who goes to school lives there, and theres nothing over there that you would want/need to go to. So as long as you dont purposefully walk into bad neighboorhoods at night you will most certainly be fine, you might have the occasional hobo ask you for change, but you'll find them anywhere in boston. I've enjoyed NEU so far and would recomend it to anyone.

Looking for an old computer video game for kids?

I agree - the book was much better than the movie. That said, however, there are a lot of bashers of this movie out there and I really don't know what the fuss is about. I didn't think it was THAT bad, although I had already read the book at the time so I knew what was going on. And I have to admit, even though I had already read the book, there were sometimes in the movie where I was confused, because, as you said, they left out a lot and I was expecting that next part to happen but it never did, and it felt very rushed. However, while I do think the book is a great read if you're bored and in need of a thrilling page-turner, I don't think at all that it is a great piece of literature and I highly doubt it will go down as one of the great clics of our time. But I guess it made money and that's really all they care about... :-D

Do colleges consider the highschool cirriculum's level of difficulty when looking at the GPA?

the highschool i used to go to didn't have a very challenging cirriculum. it was much easier to get really high grades, even in honors cles. quite frankly, there were people in honors/AP cles whose intellect would not even get them into accelerated cles in my new school. i was the top student at that school, and in my new school, i'm still in honors/AP cles, but no longer at the tippy top (some kids in my school are just geniuses, really). but if two kids, one being myself who will graduate from the much better, but also more challenging school with pretty good grades, and one student from my old school who would end up with a strong application and very high GPA because of the easiness of the cles, even if the do have an honors title, which on would have a better chance of getting accepted to "prestigeous university"? my SAT scores will definately be higher, but colleges always say that's just one factor. do they consider the school itself when looking at applications?

Obviously, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour (as well as Master) of your life is God's first will for any christian. I guess what I am asking is for everyday tasks such as being around fellow employees (or your peers if you are still in school) how can one live everyday according to the will of God. What is God's will in my life as a christian who feels like he is stuck in perpetual disappointment with the college he has chosen or the major he has chosen or simply the town in which that set christian lives. Most of these things occuring simply because of submission to anothers will or in the case of the town because of unfortunate cirstances. I understand it sounds as though I am complaining, but in reality I thank God everyday that he allows me to wake up and and enjoy the earth that he has created. Enough rambling, I want to know how to live everyday of my life for God and be able to filter everything that comes my way through a biblical lens. I am fairly well read in the Bible and I enjoy attending church because it seems like every week God's character and attributes are revealed alittle more to me (and what I know of him already is made clearer and is reinforced). But its like after this I hit a brick wall I struggle to read my Bible every day, and sometimes I may go weeks at a time without reading it (although I do enjoy reading contemporty christian authors such as Piper or Tozer) any advice on these matters would be greatly appreciated. My dog has nasal discharge and has had a prognosis of possible distemper.?

We took her to the vet on Friday night for labored breathing, but turned out it was only because her little nose was congested. They said that although they don't think it's distemper, it was a concern. She's been on antibiotics ever since. Before we took her on Friday, she had some sneezing, but no other indications that she was sick at all. I got her on tuesday the 5th of July and this was the 9th. I actually met her at the shelter on friday July 2 but couldn't take her home until the 5th due to the fact she had to be fixed first. My puppy still eats, drinks, plays, and goes the bathroom like she should, just has nasal discharge. Took her to the vet for a recheck today and her lungs are still clear..I'm so worried and this waiting it out sucks..anyone have any advice..I just hope its not fatal :( :( :(.

I'm getting a c section in 2 weeks on 9/11 my baby girl is breech. just wondering if anyone can give me any information i should know about getting a c section. will i be able to go to the bathroom on my own??? and change my famine pad on my own? and do i have to wear those hospital gowns the whole time ? i want to wear my cute PJ's as soon as possible to make me feel more confident. so any other information you may have please tell me, this is my first and i want to be as much educated for it as possible..

Yesterday I was walking to cl as I normaly do every day. I'm kind of quiet and for some reason people seem to think I'm sad or upset any time I space out (I get lost in thought often). Anyway I was walking down the hall alone, there were one or two other people in that hall, but that was it. I heard some quiet footsteps and as soon as I stopped to see who was running down the hall someone wrapped their arms around me while flying foward. I stumbled and almost fell over, but regained my balance. Whoever was holding onto me tightned their arms and snuggled their head against my neck. After a minute they let go and backed away. I turned around and saw that it was a girl that I've seen around school a bit, but we hadn't said more then 4 words to eachother before. I asked what that was for and she paused for a minute and said "you uhh... You looked kind of like you needed a hug.". Then she smiled and ran off before I could say anything else. I don't know a whole lot about her, but from what I've been told and what I've seen her do she is kind of shy and doesn't have many friends. She seems like the last person who would hug-tackle a random guy in the halls, especialy somebody who she hasn't even really spoken to. We seem to have a bit in common: we are both shy, we both don't have many friends, we both love computers, and other things like that. What do you guys (and girls) think? Does she like me (as encouraged by the fact that she paused and stuttered a bit after she hugged me as well as the fact that she hugged so tightly and snuggled her head against my neck), or did I really just look like I needed a hug? I was walking with one hand in my pocket and the other holding my books like I normaly do. Oh, and is there a chance that she might have thought I was someone else? My back was turned to her until after the hug so that seems like a possibility to me, and that would explain her nervousness and the coming up with the "you look like you needed a hug" excuse.

Muay Thai vs kickboxing and taekwondo question

be careful with taekwondo, the movement in the martial arts is very stiff and unnatural to the body, later cases have shown to have an increased chanc in arthritis. Muay Thai are both very strength based sports. If i had the physical strength, i would prefer Muay Thai. It is much more adaptable in the streets than kickboxing. If say you needed to defend yourself Muay Thai will allow you to adapt to certain situations, it is also very close combat aswell and right into your face. Where as kickboxing is still close combat but once you are inside your opponents guard, then the advantage will go straight to the person with Muay Thai

The flourescent light fixture in my kitchen has started to light differently.... can you help?

The flourescent light fixture in my kitchen has started to light differently. When i flip the switch, both bulbs seem to only illuminate to a fraction of their usual brightness. I've noticed that if i flip the switch off and on a number of times, sometimes the light will "catch" at full illumination and will stay that way until I turn the light off later, but then it's back to it's same old tricks... any thoughts?

i was in a car accident in 2006 while walking home from a football game and i was crossing the crosswalk legally and i had my ipod on so yeah i looked both ways and in thd far off distance were two cars and when the light turned red one car stopped for me on the last lane farthest from me and i kept walking because it stopped (by the way it was 11pm after a football game, i was alone walking home not drugged out or anything) so i kept walking and i look up and the light turned green like a block away and i looked at my ipod to change a song...and i heard a car speeding up and revving and stuff but then i thought thats what cars do and then they slow down and stop for the crosswalk but i looked up to see where the car was and i saw the headlights and thats it. i remember bringing myself up and like my shoes had fallen off and my ipod and wallet and just everything. i was about 30 ft away on the floor half of my face literrally skinless now bleeding my bones near my wrist had broken skin and my bones were popping out of the wound. My knee and legs were swollen. so the car drove off the car iun the farthest lane wasnt paying attention and didnt see the car that hit me, they called the police and all . and another car drove up and tried to chase the other car, but lost them. so yeah now 2 years later on 11/17/08 it will be 2 years since then.. b ut is something wrong with me? like that year i was like saddened by the event and i didntg feel nything like i acted so over the situation at that time (partly due to my vicodin, which i became addicted to for about a month too) but now im afraid of cars... i hate crossinf crcosswalks and my friends always joke about it and when i try to be serious about it they think im kidding due to the fact that i was always saying that i was fine. i got a phone that i had really wanted and it has all the same features except i would never give up a laptop for it. the laptop is so much better and you have to pay for internet on most plans plus connection isnt that good, and you dont always get it, also you can write essays ect on teh laptop and use it a lot more in the future. where as with a phone you have it for those 2 yrs and unless u still want to keep it (if you havent already broke it somehow) you will change.

It could possibly be a Urinary Tract Infection. These can occur from many different factors. I would also suggest getting tested for ually transmitted infections. If you wish to try and fix it yourself then I would strongly suggest frequently drinking cranberry juice as it is a natural diuretic and can flush out your system. Also when on your period ocionally senses can be heightened and it is not unusual for you to gain an increased sense of smell, this coupled with being slightly more self-conscious during your period may be what has led you to start noticing your body odour. Try using a roll on deodorant instead of a spray deodorant. If you are from the UK then Boots sells deodorant called Mitchum which is very very effective for people who sweat or smell more than others. If this heightened sense of smell occurs completely away from when your period occurs then it could be caused by other medication, stress or other factors that could affect your brain's normal functionality. Definately drink cranberry juice frequently and if the problems persist I would suggest getting tested for STIs, hopefully it might just be a yeast infection which is very easily curable with special cream.

My boyfriend who is 25, me, 29, has a lot of control issues. My boyfriend he does not need to call you and ask that, he can find that out looking at your mail. I said maybe he forgot, he said, who cares. To me, I have a responsibility to my tenants. If they need info, I give it to them. I tell them or ask them nothing personal. Also, today, I called my gutter installer at 2pm and told him the tools he needed to bring to work. I called him at 8pm to remind him of that so he don't forget since it is a big job. My boyfriend says, do you really need to call him at 8pm, are you bored that you have to call him. He won't forget. I told him, I have a responsibility to make sure he don't forget. Yet my boyfriend can call his female clients at 10 or 11pm. Also my boyfriend can talk to his uncle on the cell phone while we are in the car together, he can talk for an hour to him and I say nothing. But today, I was talking to my mom for 30 min on the cell in the car with him, and he turns the music up, says he is bored, and says, why do you have to talk on the phone while I am in here with you, but he does it to me.
