Why are the foods in my fridge going bad so quickly?

Those numbers don't tell you the temperature inside the fridge. Buy an inexpensive digital thermometer so you can see what the temperature actually is. It needs to stay at 38 degrees F ideally for things to stay fresh but not freeze.
