What you are looking for is a digital camera with a macro to take the close-up shots. The macro gives you the ability to get real close the bug and take a clear sharp picture. I bought my wife a Fuji FinePix S602 ZOOM a few years back that has the macro. She uses a cloud dome ( a round container that is opaque so when you shine a light on it there is no glare or shadows on the close up. She takes pictures of Jewelry and beads.
