Why do christians insist that evolution is not a fact?

because they just can't face reality. They are so entrenched in thier own beliefs that it is extremely difficult to convince them otherwise. They refuse even to take a glimpse at it. And when someone provides a superior logic, they just shut their ears and say "God is testing my faith".
