What exactly is M? This is for our Catholic brothers/sisters?

I can easily look up the definition I know, but I want to receive personal testimony. I'm pretty sure I know some people that may be of the Catholic faith, but I don't ask people their spiritual affiliations and if they don't volunteer the information, well I never know. Thank you.
